FCI Ophthalmics is the exclusive U.S. distributor of Morcher capsular tension rings. Morcher capsular tension rings are used during cataract surgery to stabilize the capsule, and they have undergone extensive clinical testing in the United States. Three rings with different diameters to accommodate patients’ individual capsular bags have been approved by the FDA for commercial distribution.

The 9-0 polypropylene suture is non-absorbable and particularly useful when used with Cionni Capsular Tension Rings. The sutures are available in two double-armed versions. One has two long, straight needles. The other has one long, straight needle and one short, curved needle.
Iris retractors (also known as iris hooks) are used when a patient has cataracts, contracted pupils, or inoperative floppy iris syndrome. Iris hooks are considered the optimal temporary implants for such conditions. These highly effective iris hooks from FCI Ophthalmics can be used when pharmacological dilation is unsuccessful. By helping to maintain a safe pupillary diameter, iris hooks are, in many cases, invaluable devices for cataract surgery.

FCI Ophthalmics has been awarded distribution rights for the Mackool™ Cataract Support System. The system is one of the many other systems and devices for cataracts surgery provided by FCI. The Mackool™ Cataract Support System helps provide capsular support during cataract surgery for patients who have contracted pupils or floppy iris syndrome.

Ring calipers from FCI Ophthalmics are used during cataract surgery and serve as templates to create a more precise anterior capsulorhexis.
Important among the devices provided by FCI for cataract surgery is the Morcher pupil dilator. The Morcher pupil dilator type 5S is a semi-circular elastic PMMA ring for the expansion of the pupil during photoemulsification. For patients who have cataracts and contracted pupils or floppy iris syndrome, this is the optimal temporary implant.

The Geuder pupil dilator injector is designed for the clockwise one-hand implantation of the Morcher pupil dilator.
