InVitria® - Intravitreal Injection Assistant
The InVitria injection assistant, designed by Arnaldo Goncalves, M.D. of the Netherlands, is a disposable device that simplifies intravitreal injections by making the procedure faster and more predictable. The unique design is equipped with a guide tube which is specially oriented to ensure a fixed injection angle, position, and depth. Use of the InVitria ensures a predictable and fast procedure without the need for instruments like a speculum, calibrator or pressure plate.
After preparing the patient for the procedure, the InVitria is carefully placed on the patient's eye using the positioning line in the center of the device. By gently pushing down and turning the device, the eye becomes fixated and the patient feels an anesthetic effect due to the pressure. With the patient unable to move the eye or see the needle, the physician can safely insert the injection into the eye using the guide tube of the InVitria device, ensuring the proper angle, depth and distance from the limbus. The point of injection is always at 3.5mm from the orientation line. Turning the InVitria after removing the needle gives a stepped injection hole due to the displacement of the conjunctiva.
Because of it's simple use, the Goncalves InVitria injection assistant is very user-friendly, patient-friendly and budget-friendly.

Scleral Buckling Components
Scleral buckling is the most frequently performed procedure for repairing retinal detachment. The following components help physicians effectively perform the surgery. Scleral buckling is most commonly used when the break is very large. It is also used if the tear is in one location and to seal breaks in one location.

About Scleral Buckling
Scleral buckling is an effective means of closing breaks, bringing two layers of the retina back together, and ridding the eye of fluid under the retina. During the scleral buckling procedure, the buckle is sewn to the outer layer of the eye, keeping it securely in place. The buckle is usually permanently attached. This pushes — or "buckles" — the sclera toward the middle of the eye, which relieves the traction on the retina and allows the retinal tear to settle and reheal against the wall of the eye.
